An investigation booking will be considered confirmed once the scope of work, service duration, applicable charges, and payment arrangements have been agreed upon.
Depending on the service, advance payment may be required before work begins. Any special arrangements must be confirmed in writing by both parties.
Clients are encouraged to review the agreed service duration and charges carefully before making payment.
All charges will be communicated to the client before the investigation begins. Payments must be made according to the agreed terms.
Charges may depend on the nature of the investigation, the number of days required, the resources involved, the location, and other requirements discussed during booking.
Charges are based on the service duration agreed at the time of booking.
For example, if you hire our team for 7 days and the investigation is completed successfully within 2 days, the charges will still apply for the full 7-day period. The remaining amount will not be refunded.
The agreed fee covers the reserved investigation period, planning, deployment, professional resources, and service arrangements. Early completion does not automatically entitle the client to a refund for unused days.
All payments made for confirmed investigation bookings are non-refundable, subject to applicable law and any non-excludable consumer rights.
Once a booking has been confirmed and payment has been made, clients are not entitled to a refund merely because:
For example, if a client books and pays for a 7-day investigation and the investigation is successfully completed within 2 days, the full agreed 7-day charge remains payable and no refund will be issued for the remaining 5 days.
If an investigation cannot be performed or is discontinued by Secret Detectives, the agency will communicate the applicable options to the client. Any refund or adjustment in such circumstances will be handled in accordance with the engagement terms and applicable law.
Nothing in this policy excludes any refund, remedy, or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Any request to change the investigation scope, location, or duration must be discussed with our team and may result in additional charges.
If the client requests an extension beyond the original booking period, additional fees may apply and must be agreed upon before the extension begins.
Client-requested cancellations after confirmation do not automatically qualify for a refund. Any applicable adjustment will be determined by the agreed terms and applicable law.
Secret Detectives may suspend or terminate an investigation if continuing it would be unlawful, unsafe, or inconsistent with the agreed service terms.
We understand that investigation services involve sensitive matters. We take reasonable steps to protect client identities, case details, communications, reports, and related information.
Information will be shared only with authorized personnel and other parties where reasonably necessary for service delivery or where disclosure is required or permitted by law.
Clients must also maintain the confidentiality of investigation reports, photographs, recordings, and other materials received from us, except where disclosure is legally required or otherwise lawful.
Secret Detectives undertakes investigations with reasonable professional care. However, we cannot guarantee a specific outcome, finding, discovery, or result.
Investigations may depend on the availability of information, access to relevant locations, the conduct of third parties, unforeseen circumstances, and other factors outside our control.
Payment for an investigation covers the agreed service and professional effort, not a guarantee that the client will obtain a particular result.
All services are subject to applicable laws and lawful investigative practices.
We do not authorize or undertake activities that are unlawful, including unauthorized access to accounts or devices, unlawful interception of communications, harassment, trespassing, or other prohibited conduct.
Clients must not request that our team violate another person's legal rights. We reserve the right to reject or discontinue any request that raises legitimate legal or ethical concerns.
Where included in the agreed service, reports, photographs, observations, or other investigation materials may be provided to the client upon completion or at another agreed stage.
The format, scope, and timing of deliverables will depend on the specific engagement.
Reports reflect the information and observations available during the investigation. Clients should not treat them as a guarantee of future events or as a substitute for professional legal advice.
The use or submission of any material in legal proceedings is subject to applicable law and the relevant court's requirements.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Secret Detectives will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from the client's use or interpretation of investigation findings, events beyond our reasonable control, or decisions independently made by the client.
We do not guarantee that third-party information will always be complete, accurate, or available.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or other non-excludable matters.
